Keeping you informed, and feel free to comment. Especially have a look at the Village Bank proposal and let us know if it could be taken up by Inderema rather that Amredi alone.

Ladies,

Below is an update on the Mabanga project, as discussed by members who attended the Inderema meeting on Sunday (Mabel, Frader, Rebecca and myself).

Update on bee-keeping at Mabanga
Mr. Lino, the K-Rep field officer, visited Mabanga, and subsequently held a meeting with interested farmers, including the chief of the area. Frader kindly attended this meeting, in which it was decided that a CBO be registered, through which K-Rep can loan hives to interested members. During discussions after the Inderema meeting on Sunday, members agreed that the CBO be named Amredi-Mabanga. It should have been registered yesterday. I will keep you informed.

Following this development, it is imperative that we get actively involved by acquiring more hives. The following two options are available:

a. Buy Langsthroth hives on loan from K-Rep

Cost of bee-hives: Kes. 4700/-
Maximum number per person: 100 beehives
Interest rate: 16% (flat rate)
Conditions:
· 10% down payment
· 2 months grace period
· Thereafter,
o repay Kes. 50/- per hive
o Use 50% of proceeds from the harvest to repay.

Attached is a sample schedule that assumes a loan for 100 hives, from which a harvest of 10kg per hive is realised beginning from month 8, and thereafter, the next harvest is a year later. However, it is expected that when well-looked after, subsequent harvests should take place every following three months. The harvest should also be higher than 10 kg per hive.

Another assumption here is that the honey is harvested by K-Rep, and sold to them at Kes. 100/- per month. However, we have the option of buying the centrifuge at Kes. 150,000/- at 16% flat interest, payable within 2 years. We would then extract and sell the honey ourselves.

Buy JKUAT hives and extractor on loan from K-Rep.
The meeting was informed that JKUAT is now producing hives and extractors that are cheaper than those from Honeycare. After discussions with Cheruiyot, he will visit JKUAT to see the possibilities offered by the JKUAT option. I will inform you of any progress in this direction. Meanwhile, could Mabel and Rebecca kindly give us information on the type of hives, cost and expected harvest, so as to enable us go ahead with the decision making?

Action required: Members to decide on how many hives each would like to get from K-Rep. Kindly let me have your indications by 30 September 2005.

Update on Village Bank
At the last meeting, we discussed the possibility of starting a village bank in Bukembe. Cheruiyot has promised to send a document with comprehensive information on what this would involve. My rough understanding of our discussion is as follows:

· Requirements: Minimum of 300 members required; the more members the better
· Each share costs Kes.300/-
· A registration fee should also be set (between Kes. 200/- and Kes. 500/-)
· Basic office set up requirements (direct costs):
o Safe Kes. 90,000/-
o Furniture Kes. 20,000
o Recruitment officers 4 @ 8,000/- Kes. 32,000
o Stationery Kes. 60,000/-
o Salary for manager Kes. 120,000/- (Reports to K-Rep)
o Launch Kes. 10,000/-
o Renovation of premises (fitting grills) Kes. 30,000/-
o Rent for 3 months Kes. 30,000/-
o Mobilisation of K-Rep officer to be done by K-Rep
§ Total Approx. Kes. 400,000/-

There are two options to raise the start-up: either we come up with it, and it goes towards our shares, or we use the registration fees collected.

Action: Your advice on how to move this forward is required as soon as possible.

Best regards,

Kentice."

Hmmmm, so for whatever this "Armedi" does, they need bee-hives. So I can infer that they either supply bees, or honey. There is also a mention of an "Inderema" which I guess is something like Armedi. There is also more mention of the Mr. Cheruiyot. He is either a big person in Armedi, Inderema or the group that they BOTH might be a part of or he may be associated with the "Village Bank," though I doubt the latter. My best guess is that it is a group of people, probably African, and apparently all female, that try to help African villages and their people in whatever their needs are, be it a bank or a bunch of bees, or honey, or helping someone start a bee or honey business. Apparently there is a big deal going on with then need of bee-hives that is a pretty big issue with them right now. This is all very odd and I bet if they find out I've been publishing private emails of this random group of ladies that I shouldn't be getting in the first place revealing details of how much money they are spending and everything that they'd be quite angry with me but I don't care, bees are mean anyway.

The First One Kind Makes Up For The Other Two...

http://www.lswproject.com/
This is why the internet was made. He has the story, whicch has a bunch of stills an text. It's pretty amazing. He has link to www.brickshelf.com which is where lego-ers can put up pictures of their creations AND images you can print out and stick on your own legos. I printed out some white tree of Gondor stuff and have some blank templates saved (contact me if you want them) so now I have a bunch of Ithilien Rangers. Check out both sites, they're both worth it. If you specificaly want to see other LOTR creations on brickshelf, go to his links page and he'll have abunch of names whos images are hosted by brickshelf (at least most of them are).
http://www.rofl.name/asciiart/
You know you love ASCII. A pretty good artist and a pretty good site. He's got awesome paintings that "real" painters wouldn't do. He's got some King Kong paintings, LOTR paintings (look up) an all this fantastical stuff. Warning, a few paintings have some nudity.

http://www.tomyumgoongmovie.com/html/trailer/trailer_wm_large.asp
Tony Jaa, star of Ong Bak: The Thai warrior is going to be in another movie. I think the plot is basically that his elephant is stolen and he wants it back. That is the URL for the large window's media player theatrical trailer, and trust me, it's worth the wait. The second pic is of Tony Jaa pwning a guy from Ong Bak.

http://www.freewebs.com/jjjohn/randomdownloads.htm
Lastly, is a folder I made of screenshots of highlights from Ong Bak (like the one above), possibly the best martial arts movie ever, and definitely the best one I've seen. Now be warned, there's 107 jpegs compressed in there and no matter how cool compressing is, its still 4.6 MB. Now don't go looking at these screens and think you've basically seen the movie. You obviously haven't. An I seriously think you should NOT ge the screens without seeing the movie. I don't wanna ruin some of the awesome-er moments. It just came out on DVD this week so BUY IT.

Aww, Peas!

Due to school interrupting my cool-stuff-on-the-internet-searching I've decided to post 3 sites or downloads every week. TRIAL VERSION ONLY! You have to register this program to be able to export your creations to a MIDI after a certain number of uses. Now be warned, this is MIDI, and you CAN hear it, so those of you who use prgrams like Fruity Loops who are used to the completely realistic sound and apparently "fruity" loop system may be dissapointed. But what I like better about this than Fruity Loops is that you can save your creations as music in the demo/trial versions. Now it might seem like you downloaded an old version or something when you load it up but believe it or not (you should, though0) you are operating in the latest version. It doesn't look like much with it's eight tracks (and it seems like programs that are brighter seem less professional) but it's pretty good and you can actually change a track's instrument halfway through and the old notes will still keep their old tones so you CAN have drums be one track! You should DL it, a creation of mine using this is up as BG music at www.freewebs.com/jjjohn, a site I basically stole from my cousin.

By the way, today has been my first day of school so my posts may be less consistent but I will try to make up for it on days I can post.

Ninja Official Website

http://realultimatepower.net/
Let me make something clear right at the beginning. This site was made by a kid (who's picture can be seen in the explanation of sepukku) and there is no real information on it. But it's kinda funny. And plus this is totally relevant to my site because it's about ninjas, and occasionally (in his ninja scripts) they fight pirates. This person is obviously in favor of ninjas on all fronts. Now I gotta get a good site on pirates........

NOTE: There is some questionable humor in this site. The program is a hi-res picture of Vvardenfell, with a bar on the bottom that has nearly every location in Vvardenfell, and once you choose a location, it will zoom to where it is in Vvardenfell (very useful if you're trying to complete a quest but don't know where to go). It's Fileplanet so you'll probably have to wait ten minutes or more (unless you're reading this a few months after I'm typing it).
2) http://www.buttersky.com/morrowind/
Hey, I like Morrowind, and this site is really great for Morrowinders too. This site has the locations of tons of rare items and NPCs and locations, complete with maps on most things. The site is pretty self-explanatory and doesn't need any more explaining than that.
3) http://www.asciimation.co.nz/
Here is an all time favorite site of mine. If you're 1337 you've probably seen people make drawings aout of letters and symbols on the keyboard. This site has a java movie applet that shows most of Star Wars in asciimation, or drawing stuff with your keyboard. It's not finished, and it hasn't been updated in a long time so I doubt it will ever be finished but it is still great. There are also a few more asciimations to watch (death of jar jar being my favorite) that are fun. Enjoy!

REAL QUICK

I just found out I'm leaving in like 10 minutes for 4 days so I'm in a bit of a hurry. www.lf2.com if you're cool at all, you already have this. It took me FOREVER to find this and it wasn't easy. I'm not going to say where I found it though because then you'd think I'm stupid. So I put this up here just in case you haven't seen it or if you have seen it but wanted a picture. Unfortunately it doesn't look as good as it did on the show, as you can't see it gleam in the lights, but it was all I could find.

Cool Site

I always love it whe I come across a site that clearly was not made using some sort of online web-page maker (ex:freewebs) and are clearly of hilariously low quality.
